New Zealand all-rounder Suzie Bates has surpassed former Indian captain Mithali Raj to become the most-capped player in women’s international cricket.
Bates achieved this milestone during the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 on October 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Bates, who debuted in 2006 at age 19 against India, stepped out for her 334th international match (163 ODIs and 171 T20Is).
Mithali held the previous record with 333 matches before retiring after the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup. Other notable names in the top five include Ellyse Perry, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Charlotte Edwards, with Perry and Kaur being the only other active players alongside Bates.
Match stats for most-capped players:

– Mithali Raj – 333 (12 Tests, 232 ODIs, 89 T20Is)

At the halfway mark, New Zealand reached 70/2, with Kerr and captain Sophie Devine aiming to push for a strong finish.
