
India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who scored 60 and 64 in the third Test against New Zealand in Mumbai, has risen five spots to No. 6 in the latest ICC Test rankings, released on Wednesday (November 6).
Pant is now India’s second-highest-ranked Test batter after Yashasvi Jaiswal, who slipped to No. 4 following a poor showing in the Mumbai Test.
Shubman Gill also climbed in the rankings, moving up four places to No. 16 after his 90-run innings in Mumbai. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli dropped out of the top 20 for the first time since 2014, falling to No. 22 after scoring only 93 runs in the series at an average of 15.50.
Rohit Sharma fell two spots to No. 26 after finishing the series with 91 runs at an average of 15.17.
On the bowling side, Ravindra Jadeja, who took five wickets in each innings of the third Test, has moved up to No. 6, while Jasprit Bumrah remains India’s top-ranked bowler at No. 3. Ravichandran Ashwin dropped one place to No. 5.
New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel leaped 12 spots to No. 22 among bowlers after claiming 15 wickets in the series, including 11 in the Mumbai Test.
South African pacer Kagiso Rabada retains the top spot, with Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins holding second and fourth positions, respectively. Joe Root remains the world’s top-ranked Test batter.
