Australia dominated the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, registering a commanding 10-wicket victory over India in the pink-ball clash at the Adelaide Oval to level the series.
The match will be remembered for several highlights, including the fiery exchange between India’s Mohammed Siraj and Australia’s Travis Head. Head was in sublime form, smashing 140 runs in the first innings before being dismissed by Siraj.
The duo engaged in a heated altercation during Head’s innings, but the tension seemed to dissolve post-match, as Siraj was seen sharing a warm hug with Head after Australia’s victory.
Australia’s performance throughout the game was exceptional. After restricting India to 180 in their first innings, the hosts piled up 337 runs, bolstered by Head’s brilliant century.
India’s struggles continued in the second innings, with Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 42 being the top score as they were bowled out for 175. This left Australia needing just 19 runs to seal the win, which they achieved effortlessly.
With the series now tied, both teams have everything to play for in the third Test, set to take place at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba, starting December 14.
