India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, is preparing for the upcoming home Test series against New Zealand, part of the World Test Championship.
Recently spotted training intensely in Mumbai, Rohit took time to visit young cricketer Musheer Khan, who is recovering from injuries after a car accident. Musheer, who had been in great form, suffered neck injuries and has been away from cricket since the incident.
During Musheer’s recovery, his brother Sarfaraz Khan scored a double century, helping Mumbai defeat the Rest of India team after 27 years.
Rohit, known for his caring nature, visited Sarfaraz to check on Musheer’s well-being. Sarfaraz later shared a photo on social media of Rohit with his family, including their father, Naushad Khan, and Musheer, who wore a neck brace.
Reflecting on this difficult time, Sarfaraz said, “It has been an emotional week for me. I promised my family and teammates that if I got set and crossed fifty, I’d score a double hundred—one hundred for me and one for my brother, Musheer.”
Sarfaraz will miss the Ranji Trophy opener on October 11 as he joins the Indian squad for the New Zealand series.
