
Indian cricketer Rinku Singh has recently gotten engaged to Priya Saroj, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party.
The engagement took place in a private ceremony, and the couple is set to tie the knot soon.
Priya Saroj, the youngest-ever MP in India at 25, was elected from the Machhlishahr constituency in Uttar Pradesh during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Rinku, 27, is part of India’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England, starting January 22 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
A key player in India’s middle order, Rinku is likely to bat at No. 6 and bring his finishing skills to the team. He has been a regular in India’s T20I side since making his debut in August 2023.
The left-handed batter boasts impressive T20I statistics, with 507 runs in 30 matches at an average of 46.09 and a remarkable strike rate of 165.14, including three half-centuries.
Rinku has also played two ODIs, scoring 55 runs at an average of 27.50.
Additionally, his stellar first-class cricket record includes 3336 runs in 50 matches at an average of 54.68, with seven centuries and 22 fifties.
Rinku is set to continue his association with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2025, having been retained by the franchise for ₹13 crore ahead of the mega auction.
His consistent performances for KKR have been pivotal, with 893 runs in 45 matches at an average of 30.79 and a strike rate of 143.34, including four fifties.
Rinku’s breakthrough came during IPL 2023, where he scored 474 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53, earning him a spot in Team India.
