Former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar shared his heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes for badminton star PV Sindhu and her fiancé, Venkata Datta Sai, as they prepare to tie the knot on December 22.
Tendulkar’s touching message added to the celebratory spirit of the soon-to-be-married couple’s special occasion.
In his note, Tendulkar praised Sindhu’s remarkable achievements in badminton and wished her a lifetime filled with happiness and love. The cricket icon also expressed gratitude for being personally invited to the wedding.
“In badminton, the score always starts with ‘love,’ and your beautiful journey with Venkata Datta Sai ensures it continues with ‘love’ forever! Thank you for personally inviting us to be a part of your big day. Wishing you both a lifetime of smashing memories and endless rallies of joy!” Tendulkar wrote on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account, along with a photo of himself with Sindhu and Venkata.
The wedding, set for December 22, will be followed by a reception in Hyderabad on December 24. Sindhu, who recently won the Syed Modi International title, visited Tendulkar to personally invite him and his family.
Sindhu’s wedding date was carefully chosen to allow her to resume international badminton commitments in January, with an important season ahead.
Her fiancé, Venkata Datta Sai, is the Executive Director at Posidex Technologies, based in Hyderabad, and has an impressive background in liberal studies, business, and sports management, including a stint with the JSW-owned Delhi Capitals.
PV Ramana, Sindhu’s father, confirmed the plans, “The two families knew each other, but everything was finalized only a month ago. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January. The marriage ceremony is on December 22, followed by a reception on December 24 in Hyderabad. She will start her training soon after, as the next season is crucial.”
