Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni attended Radhika Merchant’s birthday bash on October 18. Radhika is married to Anant Ambani, son of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani.
Dhoni had previously attended their wedding in Jamnagar and congratulated the couple via an Instagram post.
Alongside Dhoni, several Bollywood celebrities were also present at the celebration. A picture of Dhoni posing with one of Radhika’s friends has been circulating online.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Dhoni’s potential participation in the upcoming IPL.
Although he stepped down as Chennai Super Kings captain in 2024, Dhoni continues to play as a player. He is expected to make a decision on his IPL future following the new retention rules announced by the BCCI for the 2025 season, which allow six retentions, including one uncapped player.
Since Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, he could qualify as an uncapped player.
Reflecting on the rule change, former India batter Mohammed Kaif said, “The rule was rightly changed for Dhoni. Even if he gets 4 crore as an uncapped player, it doesn’t matter to him. Everyone knows this rule was made for Dhoni, and why not? You would change the rules for a player like him.”
