Former India captain and Jharkhand Elections Brand Ambassador, MS Dhoni, was recently seen arriving at a polling booth in Ranchi with his wife, Sakshi, to cast their votes in the Jharkhand assembly elections.
In a video circulating on social media, fans crowded around the polling station to catch a glimpse of Dhoni as security cleared a path for the couple.
Dhoni’s role as the brand ambassador aims to raise voter awareness under the SWEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) program, with the chief electoral officer confirming they had his consent to use his image for the elections.
As for Dhoni’s cricketing future, he is set to play another season in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) after being retained by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 4 crore as an uncapped player.
Many had speculated about his retirement, but CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently shared insights into Dhoni’s plans, suggesting he is preparing for one final game with CSK.
“As far as Mahi bhai is concerned, he keeps everything to himself, only revealing things at the last moment. Given his passion for CSK and his loyal fan following, he mentioned in an interview that he would play his last game in Chennai. We’re hopeful he’ll continue, but ultimately, MS knows best. As long as he wants to play, the doors at CSK are always open,” Viswanathan shared in a conversation with Rayudu on Provoke TV’s YouTube channel.
