Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh lit up Kolkata on Saturday, November 30, during his Dil-Luminati tour.
The next day, he shared highlights from the concert, where he interacted with the audience and chanted the Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) famous slogan, ‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re.’
The gesture earned him thunderous applause from the local crowd.
Diljit also spoke about Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of KKR, and praised the tagline’s deeper message.
“This is a very good slogan. Is it KKR’s? It’s very meaningful. Since it’s Shah Rukh Khan sir’s team, we would’ve loved it anyway because we’re his fans. It’s a powerful mantra—work hard, fight for yourself, and whether you win or not is secondary,” he said.
He further emphasized the importance of giving one’s best effort. “It’s our duty to give 100 percent. If you do that, winning becomes inevitable. This slogan really resonates with that spirit,” Diljit added.
The video of Diljit’s interaction went viral, delighting KKR fans, and the franchise shared the clip on its platforms. The singer also drew parallels between Kolkata and Punjab, his home state, noting the cultural similarities and warmth of the people.
Meanwhile, KKR made headlines at the IPL Mega Auction by reacquiring key players like Venkatesh Iyer, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Manish Pandey, Anukul Roy, and Vaibhav Arora.
They also added star names like Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, Rovman Powell, Spencer Johnson, and Ajinkya Rahane to their roster, spending INR 23.75 crore to bring Venkatesh back.
With a strengthened lineup, KKR will be hoping to clinch their fourth IPL title in the 2025 season, banking on the all-round abilities of players like Venkatesh to lead them to glory.
