Australia clinched victory in the first ODI against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 4, restricting Pakistan to 203 runs after winning the toss and choosing to bowl.
Despite losing eight wickets, Australia chased down the target in just 33.3 overs.
Following the ODI series, the two teams will face off in a three-match T20I series starting November 14 at The Gabba in Brisbane.
After the first ODI, Cricket Australia announced Josh Inglis as captain for the T20I series. This marks Inglis’s debut as Australia’s T20I captain.
“Josh is a crucial part of our ODI and T20I teams, respected on and off the field. He brings strong tactics and positivity to the role,” said George Bailey, national selection chairman.
Inglis, Australia’s 14th T20I and 30th overall captain, will also lead in the third ODI, as regulars Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith are resting ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
With the key players absent for the Perth ODI, Australia has added pacers Xavier Bartlett and Spencer Johnson, along with wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe, to the squad.
