Hardik Pandya last played for India in the second T20I against Sri Lanka in July and has been out of action since, focusing on a return to red-ball cricket.
He voluntarily stepped away from Test matches to concentrate on white-ball formats due to his history of injuries.
However, reports suggest the all-rounder is now eyeing a spot in the Test team and preparing for a potential comeback.
While gearing up for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, Hardik has been spending quality time with his son, Agastya. The father-son duo was seen sharing smiles and moments during a practice session, with Hardik posting highlights on Instagram.
Notably, Hardik hasn’t played a Test since September 2018 but was recently spotted bowling with the red ball, sparking speculation about his return to Test cricket.
Former cricketer Parthiv Patel downplayed the possibility of a Test comeback, noting that Hardik was using the red ball simply because the white one wasn’t available.
Patel added that Hardik would need to play at least one first-class match to be considered, which seems unlikely at this stage.
