Beyond their rich cricketing heritage, nations in the Asian subcontinent are also known for their warm hospitality, a tradition Pakistan upheld when welcoming the touring England team to Multan.
As the English team stepped off the bus from Multan International Airport to their hotel, they were greeted by traditional dancers, with the lively beats of dhols and bagpipes filling the air. Several English players were seen appreciating the vibrant welcome.
Inside the hotel, they were adorned with intricately embroidered shawls and presented with bouquets, further showcasing the warm reception.

However, the Pakistani hosts are currently facing tough times. Following a crushing home defeat to Bangladesh and an early exit from the T20 World Cup in June, Pakistan’s red-ball team has struggled, failing to win any of their last 10 home Tests. Their last home victory came against South Africa in Rawalpindi.
England holds a clear advantage, having won 29 of the 89 Tests played between the two nations, with Pakistan managing 21 victories. After a strong summer where England won five of six home Tests, Pakistan will need to bounce back quickly to pose a challenge to this in-form side.
