The BCCI recently honored India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024-winning team in a unique way at the Naman Awards, presenting each player with a specially crafted ‘Champions’ ring.
Taking inspiration from American sports leagues like the NBA and NFL, the Indian board designed custom rings to commemorate the players’ contributions during the tournament. A video shared on the BCCI’s social media on February 7 offered a full view of the ring, which features the Ashoka Chakra on top and is engraved with each player’s name and jersey number. The ring also highlights India’s dominant, unbeaten run in the competition, culminating in their victory over South Africa in the final. Crafted from gold and embedded with diamonds, the ring carries a regal design befitting the achievement. Among those receiving the honor were Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya. “Presenting #TeamIndia with their CHAMPIONS RING to honor their flawless campaign in the #T20WorldCup. Diamonds may be forever, but this win is immortalized in a billion hearts. These memories will ‘Ring’ loud and live with us forever,” BCCI posted on X.
