RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, has shared insights on team management, emphasizing the importance of handling both beginnings and endings thoughtfully to build a strong franchise culture.
This strategy is in focus as RCB prepares for the IPL 2025 mega-auction, aiming to construct a fresh lineup.
The team has retained just three players: Virat Kohli (INR 21 crore), Rajat Patidar (INR 11 crore), and uncapped pacer Yash Dayal (INR 5 crore).
Bobat highlighted the significance of inductions and exits in building a cohesive team, saying, “People often focus on the middle, but attention to the start and end of a player’s journey is essential for cultural connection.”
RCB released key players, including Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, Will Jacks, Anuj Rawat, and Akash Deep. Maxwell’s departure was managed with professionalism, as he explained in a conversation with Bobat and coach Andy Flower.
“They explained the decision not to retain me in a respectful exit meeting,” Maxwell shared, praising the open communication.
With INR 83 crore and three Right to Match (RTM) cards, RCB is expected to make substantial moves in the auction, building toward a 25-member squad.
